Chip manufacturer AMD has pushed out new Phenom II processors that it hopes will reduce the performance gap with competing Intel Core 2 and Core i7 processors.
The Phenom II "Dragon" line of desktop processors consists only of Quad Core and Triple Core models which seems to indicate that AMD will relegate Dual Core processors to the value segment of the market.
AMD has used 45-nm manufacturing process for the new Phenom II which means that it manages to produce more CPU per unit area than ever before while the latter will consume
